Rever Dercy

For owners of private companies with £500K+ EBITDA

The buyer has done this 40 times. You’ll do it once.

Find out what a buyer would pay for your business today, what’s holding your multiple back, and what to fix while there’s still time.

Your valuation gives you a number. The buyer sets the price.

Most valuations get the theory right. They apply what’s in the textbook and produce an “objective” figure you can defend.

But buyers don't care about theory. They care about making money. And the riskier that money looks, the less they'll pay for it.

So they ask different questions:

  • Five years from now, will this business still look as attractive?

  • What risks am I taking on as the new owner?

  • Do I believe the story I’m being told?

Their answers decide your multiple.

Take a company earning £2M a year. At 4x it sells for £8M. At 6x it sells for £12M. Same company, same year, and £4M apart.

Most owners only find out which side of that gap they’re on once they’re already trying to sell.

Valuation is half science, half judgement. I bring the half that happens in the room.

A traditional valuation asks: “What is this business worth based on the numbers?”

I ask the harder question: “What would a buyer actually pay, and what would make them pay more?”

The science is the model: cash flows, multiples, comparables. Plenty of firms do it well.

The judgement only shows up when real money is on the table. You learn what a buyer probes first, what makes them nervous, and what makes them stretch. You can’t pick that up from a textbook. You learn it by working the deals.

I’ve worked on cross-border M&A deals across Europe and the US, both the ones that closed and the ones that fell apart. That’s the lens I bring. I’ll tell you what a buyer will care about in your business, and how it will move your exit price.

What you get

The Exit Value Review gives you four things:

1. Your value today, the way a buyer sees it. The most likely range a buyer would pay for your business today, built from listed comparables, past deals, future cash flows, and the return they need to make.

2. What makes your business valuable, and what doesn't. How a buyer would rate you on each factor that shapes your price, marked strong, moderate or weak.

3. Where to focus. The improvements that would lift your exit price the most, ranked by impact.

4. A 60-minute walkthrough with me. We go through every finding together, so you understand the reasoning behind each one.

How it works

From first call to answers in four weeks.

1. Intro call (free, 30 min). We talk about your company, timing and goals. If I can’t help, I’ll say so.

2. Information gathering (week 1). I send you an info request list, and you pull the documents together.

3. Management workshops (week 2). One or two 90-minute sessions. We break down how your business really works. A buyer will ask your team these questions one day. Better that I ask them first.

4. Valuation and review (weeks 2-4). I build your valuation and assess the business the way a buyer's deal team would.

5. Walkthrough (week 4). A 60-minute session where we go through everything. You leave knowing exactly where to focus.

Is this for you?

This is for you if:

  • You own an established private company with at least £500K in annual EBITDA.

  • You’re thinking about an exit in the next 1–5 years

  • You want to understand your value, not just be handed a number.

This isn’t for you if:

  • You need a formal valuation for HMRC, a court case or an Employee Ownership Trust.

  • You want someone to run your sale or negotiate for you.

Hi, I’m Joonas

Joonas, founder of Rever Dercy

I'm the founder of Rever Dercy, and I hold an MSc in Finance. I've lived and worked in Helsinki, Stockholm and the US, and I've dealt with buyers from the UK, Europe, the US and Asia. Your buyer may well come from abroad too, and I speak their language.

Metacore (2025–2026). I sat on the Extended Leadership Team of a mobile gaming company with over $700M in lifetime revenue. The company was acquired in 2026, and the price landed where my M&A experience told me it would.

MCF Corporate Finance (2022–2025). I worked in cross-border M&A advisory, This is where I learned how buyers think. I dealt with buyers of every shape and size. I saw many deals over the finish line, and many more that didn’t make it. Those taught me the most.

EY (2020–2022). This is where I cut my teeth in finance. I learned to read a set of accounts line by line, the way a buyer’s due diligence team will read yours.

One thing kept bothering me. Most valuations are done by specialists who have never been there when a price is negotiated, hands are shaken and money changes hands. What good is a theoretical number if it isn’t what a buyer would actually pay?

And buyers show up with a team and 40 deals behind them. Owners show up with one company and one shot.

I started Rever Dercy to even that out. To help owners like you get what your business is really worth when you exit.
